The rush to 4,000 maimed continues.
That is 4,000 shootings.
Three were shot at a Chatham dance studio Sunday night, three were shot in West Garfield Park Monday afternoon, and 4 were shot in North Lawdale. (Those are neighborhoods in Chicago.) So will any of this be on the news? Will Chicago's shootings, which stand at 3123 this morning, or the murders, of which there have been 707 as of this morning, be in the news? Probably not. Of the 707 killed, only 6 were shot by Chicago PD. Of the more than 3100 injuries, only 11 were due to the actions of the police. And so the narrative isn't advanced in any way.
