Self-Defense in Alabama

Very little info on what happened before the shooting has been released. Self-Defense Believed Motive In Fatal Shooting At PARA Center | Tuscaloosa, AL Patch

Captain Jack Kennedy, commander of the Tuscaloosa Violent Crimes Unit, said a 23-year-old male was found shot and was transported to DCH but did not survive his injuries.

DCH is a regional medical center in Tuscaloosa, AL.

After an interview with the shooter, and talking to witnesses, no arrests were made, though as always, the investigation continues.

"The shooting happened during a private event that has been scheduled at the center," Kennedy said, with Tuscaloosa Patch independently confirming that the shooting occurred at a child's birthday party.

Self-defense is a human right, and Alabama has a history of recognizing it as a legal right.
