The Beetlejuice Beetlejuice actress says that she wants to see women get their own purpose-built action roles, rather than taking over parts previously meant for men. Case in point: James Bond.
If you want another 00 that is one thing. 008 or 009, or 010, or whatever. But 007 is JAMES Bond, and should remain James Bond. And if you do 008, or whatever, as a woman, she should NOT be a carbon copy of 007.

ReplyDeleteNo. The modern incarnation of Hollywood is completely ignorant of anything that came before 2004 or so. Sometimes it feels like that should be 2016.
DeleteWhat they do know is that they have been losing 100s of millions (or billions) of dollars in the past 5 years.
They never heard of Ripley, Sarah Conner (in T2), they don't know that Princess Leia was the leader of the Rebellion, ... Those are the easy ones - Emma Peel? That The Avengers was something before the MCU came along isn't even in their worldview
