When did stealing cars become a common pastime for teenagers? Rochester police: 17-year-old boy was shot as teens drove toward man at Norton Village
He approached a group of teens in a Kia and a Hyundai to see what they were up to. They left the area, but that wasn't the end of it.
The teens left the area in the vehicles, only to circle back and drive at the man, according to police. The man reportedly pulled a legally registered .45-caliber handgun and fired several rounds before the vehicles fled.
Police were called when a 17-year-old was reported with a gunshot wound, and the cops had him taken to a hospital.
Officers recovered a stolen Kia and a stolen Hyundai near the South Union Street scene and took a 15-year-old boy into custody. He is charged with grand larceny, criminal possession of stolen property and unauthorized use of a motor vehicle. He was taken to the Monroe County Children's Detention Center.
The man has not been charged. (Hat tip to Concealed Nation.)
