Now, Australia does have socialized medicine in the form of their Medicare program, but it apparently is more in touch with reality than the British National Health Service. Anger as record number of NHS doctors quit for Australia where they can earn double
Record numbers of fed-up doctors are planning to quit the NHS to work in the sun for better pay.
More than 8,600 asked for paperwork to secure jobs overseas last year, 2,281 of them seeking posts in Australia.
That is because General Practioners can make 78% more in Australia than they can in England. I believe specialists can see similar pay increases.
A poll this month revealed a third of doctors are likely to move abroad in the next year. The BMA’s Dr Latifa Patel said the exodus “is not surprising when we consider the pressures staff face”.
A country that is already having problems with medical wait times, really can't afford to lose one third of its doctors.
Wow, hard to believe that people who work for wages could influenced by higher pay.
ReplyDeleteBTW I am finally able to comment on your site again, don't know what happened but I couldn't sign in for white a while. I had suggested Mono Inc to you and was glad you enjoyed them.
Google says they recently changed the login process. It looks virtually the same to me.
