Trudeau Turns Canada Into Police State

Free Speech was the cornerstone of the enlightenment. I guess that's over. Canadian law endorsed by Trudeau could imprison people for speech crimes

Writing in Public, conservative author Stephen Moore called it the “most shocking of all the totalitarian, illiberal, and anti-Enlightenment pieces of legislation that have been introduced in the Western world in decades.”

Currently it is "limited" to advocating genocide. That could, in today's climate, include expressing any support for the state if Israel. Or being Jewish. Found guilty of such an offense could have you land in prison for life.

Maragaret Atwood, author of The Handmaid’s Tale, has criticized the bill as “Orwellian.”

“If this account of the bill is true, it’s Lettres de Cachet all over again. The possibilities for revenge false accusations + thoughtcrime stuff are sooo inviting! Trudeau’s Orwellian online harms bill,” Atwood wrote on Twitter.

For those of you not interested in history, here's a link to look up Lettres de Cachet. The Lettres de Cachet, and their abuse, were among the list of grievances that lead up French Revolution.

The motto of the French Revolution, and the Reign of Terror, was "Liberty, Equality, Fraternity." I am often struck by how similar that it to "Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion." I wonder if we are going to end up in the same place.

  1. Tyrants do NOT care what the peasant slave class want or think or believe. Tyrants only demand obedience. That seems to describe Canada and the UK of recent. In that both governments demand no guns for the masses = yah like no kidding really.
