The Left in general, and Hollywood in particular, cannot stand the concepts of Good and Evil. If there are Good and Evil in the world, then some of your actions will be Right, and some of them may be Wrong, or you may at least be tempted to be Wrong. That is not how the Left views the world. "There is only power."
Marxism, whether classical, or the social-justice version we have today, is all about power. Dividing the world into classes of oppressors and the oppressed, and inciting the oppressed to rise up and claim power. Nothing is wrong in that pursuit. Kill whoever you need to, in whatever numbers. "The End justifies the Means." There is no Good or Evil. There is only Power.
That world view is how you get Epstein's Island, and The Cultural Revolution, The Holodomor, and the Great Leap Forward. And so many more instances. Do whatever you want, do whatever you need to do to gain and keep power, to satisfy your base cravings, anything. That world view which holds there is no Good or Evil, cannot call anything Right or Wrong.
I wanted to title this post "The Final Destruction of Star Wars," but it was destroyed a long way back.
Star Wars, as originally envisioned by George Lucas, was a fairy tale of Good versus Evil. The latest installment, due in July on D+ explicitly states the view that there is neither good nor evil. The ultimate Leftist show. Oh, and it will have lots of the required diversity.
This isn't about good or bad. This is about power, and who is allowed to use it.
Power and Diversity.
I'm done with Hollywood. They can't seem to get out of their own way on this Woke nonsense. From Indiana Jones and The Insufferable Feminist, to The Marvels, to the current fiasco in theaters, The American Society of Magical Negros, Hollywood is incapable of seeing what is way beyond a hint at this point; no one wants their Woke crap.

Star Wars as envisoned by Lucas? Lucas modelled the Rebels on the Viet Cong, and the Empire on the USA.
ReplyDeleteThis is simplified. OVER simplified. The rebels v The Empire was small v large. It could have been the Afghans v the Soviets. The American Revolutionaries v The British....
DeleteThat model was not about morality. It was about overwhelming odds.
This is the Film Threat reaction to the trailer. Alan Ng and Chris Gore take this insanity apart. THE ACOLYTE TRAILER REACTION | Film Threat Reviews
