October in Chicago

HeyJackass! brings us the October Wrap-up

A slightly below-average, first full month of SAFE-T October shows slightly worsening conditions from a partial SAFE-T September.

Totals for the month are 52 homicides, and 239 shot and wounded.

2023 is shaping up to be marginally safer than 2021 or 2022, so the powers that be will celebrate the fact that "Crime is down." They will ignore how much worse it is today, than it was in years past, because that doesn't help the spin.

Click for the stats breakdown by age, race, and sex, and the stats like the number of selfies, and #ShotInTheAss.

One interesting piece of statistics is that there were 6 mass shootings in Chicago during the month of October, in which 36 were shot and wounded, 3 people were fatally shot. They didn't make national news, like the shooting in Maine, because the media only cares about SOME shootings, not all.
