Labor Day weekend means it’s time to close out this year’s demonization-free summer of silly decisions. Since the silly decisions began in earnest on Friday, May 26th, we’ve tallied over 200 homicides with nearly another 900 shot & wounded making it a more mostly peaceful summer than the last couple two tree years.
Final tally for the holiday weekend was 9 killed, and 42 shot and wounded. As bad as those numbers are, they are fairly typical of Labor Day in Chicago for the past few years.
As HeyJackass! tracks the 3-day weekend, it starts on Friday at noon, and ends at six o'clock Tuesday morning.
