People in Arizona are every bit as heavily armed as they are in Texas. Particularly in the rural areas.
A man deputies say was shot to death while trying to break in to a woman’s home in a rural area near Tucson last week was a registered sex offender who lived nearby, records show.
He lived nearby, which suggests that he knew she would be home alone. In addition to being a registered sex-offender, he had a long criminal history.
She fired one shot to scare him away. (Warning shots are never a good idea, and illegal in some states.) She then fired a second time when he didn't leave. He died at the scene.
So would someone from the gun-hating part of the Left care to explain what she should have done? Call 911 and wait 20 minutes for cops to respond? That's a long time. Was he armed? Was just planning to overpower her because he was physically larger? What should she have done, except use a tool to neutralize any physical difference in their size? The Left loves to say, "run away." I guess they don't care about the old, the infirm or the disabled. The Left also loves to say, "Just give them what they want and you won't get hurt." I don't think that would apply in this case either.
Self-defense is a human-right.
