Let us take a look at the Nerdrotic video Disney is FAILING, and That's A Good Thing
Disney paid billions to buy various pieces of intellectual property. They paid four billion dollars for Lucasfilm, and eviscerated Star Wars and Indiana Jones. The Willow program, based on a movie I enjoyed, but have not seen in very long time, was so bad they canceled it and removed it from Disney+ so it wouldn't stink up the brand. They paid $71 billion (yes Billion with a "B") for Fox, which gave them distribution rights to the Avatar franchise. So while they make some money on the success of Avatar sequels, they don't make all of that.
Prepare for some access media logic-whiplash on this one.
There is a lot of blaming of COVID and various other things. What the regular media haven't blamed Disney for is pissing off half their audience, or trying to cram the woke agenda into every movie and TV show. In particular movies that should be family movies from Pixar and Disney Animation, have alienated parents. Then there is the bad writing; it has killed franchises, like Indiana Jones. The writing has pissed off everyone who likes movies. (Or who did - past tense.).
Which is a great time for the writers to go on strike, by the way, just as they have burned Disney and Warner Bros and Paramount to the ground with Woke nonsense. At least in the movie and TV arena. Oh, and the Disney parks are also not the cash cow they once were.
Way to go Disney! You've turned billions into millions.
But let's take a look at the video. It is an 18 minute video, so plan accordingly.
Now even Bob Iger has to admit that Disney/Marvel is struggling, but he is spinning like a top. Here is the RK Outpost video Disney CEO Bob Iger ADMITS Marvel Is FAILING | Makes EXCUSES For Box Office BOMBS And Disney+ FLOPS. It is only a 5 minute video.
And despite all the problems, hundreds of millions of dollars lost on movies, billions lost on streaming, and problems with the park attendance, Bob Iger got a two or three year extension on his contract. A reminder: Bob Iger is the man responsible for buring all of the intellectual property.
Fans made the intellectual property valuable - worth billions in the case of Lucasfilm. The execs and "creatives" at Disney decided that they could ignore, denigrate and infuriate the fans. So the fans did the only thing they could. They made the intellectual property a lot less valuable.
