Woke Hollywood and Mao's Cultural Revolution

Politics is downstream of culture, and there is a culture war going on. It has been going on for a very long time, it is just that Republicans and Conservatives couldn't be bothered to show up. Are you disturbed about what is going on in politics? You should have been paying attention to culture for the past 20 years, or 40 years, or more.

How did we get here? How were so many Woke Activists able to infiltrate so many corporations that particularly provide our entertainment and information? The answer is easy: Apathy.

From classic liberals to libertarians to anarcho-capitalists to conservatives. As many of us have been saying for a long, long time, a lot of the powers that be in all of those organizations, and specifically the political pundits, completely missed the mark on this one, because they underestimated the cultural importance of music, television, film, comic books, and yes, video games. The latter two dismissed as childish, and that's why we all keep losing.

We just had a weekend where people were cheering on a sportsball team. For most of America it wasn't even the sportsball team they usually cheer on. Some were probably screaming at the TV. For the past two weeks a sizeable number of people in and around Cincinnati were willing to tell any stranger how the refs in the NFL are horrible and were in the bag for anyone not Cincinnati. (Ask me how I know.)

But while screaming at the TV every Sunday over a sportsball game, or occasionally on Monday or Thursday, is mature and cool, worrying about the state of comics, or the woke nature of the new video games is childish, at least according to the people screaming about sportsball.

And if you don't watch anything else, listen to the last 2 minutes for a message from John Wayne.

Politics is downstream of culture, and if you want to have politics make sense again, you better wake up to the reality of the culture war.
