If He Doesn't Understand Firearms, He Should Not Have Been Handling One

You are responsible for what you do with a firearm. If you think it is unloaded, and it is in fact loaded, you are responsible for anything bad that happens.

This is a rule that Alec Baldwin doesn't think should apply to him. He wants you to believe that it's not his fault. Well, that isn't true. Whatever the outcome of the trial, he is responsible.

If you're going to be handling firearms, you should learn something about firearms. Look at the lengths that people like Keanu Reeves have gone to in order to become proficient (and safe) in handling firearms.

The most disgusting part of this whole thing was when Mr. Baldwin went on television and claimed that he never pulled the trigger. The gun just (magically) went off by itself. That is such a blatant lie. A mechanical examination of the firearm in question found NO problems. That means it wouldn't go off unless the trigger was pulled.

One of the points made by Mr. Noir in the embedded video is that a little more time learning about firearm safety, and a little less time lecturing the American people on something he knows nothing about would have been good for Mr. Baldwin. But learning something would mean that he would have to admit to himself that he wasn't an expert.

This is Colion Noir's video Alec Baldwin Charged With 2 Counts Of Involuntary Manslaughter, Facing Up To 18 Months In Prison

Colion Noir is fairly upfront with the fact that he doesn't care for Alec Baldwin, and the fact that he didn't think a big-wig from Hollywood would be charged with a crime. But acknowledging your bias is one way to overcome it.

The hat tip for all of this goes to Ryan Kinel at RK Outpost and his video Alec Baldwin In MASSIVE Trouble! | CHARGED With Killing Woman On Set Of Rust, Hollywood Is NERVOUS.

There are two articles covered in Ryan Kinel's video, and more on the web. The Wall Street Journal apparently reported this story first. While I have not looked for this particular story, virtually all of the WSJ is behind a paywall that I am not willing to pay for.
