Wild Animal Encounters in California

The thing that really caught my attention is the attitude that Daddy Government should take care of this issue. Coyote attacks toddler in broad daylight: attack captured on video

A two-year-old was attacked and dragged by a coyote in a Los Angeles neighborhood that is near the Santa Monica Mountains.

[The parents] want to prevent an attack like this from happening to another child and are hoping the city will get involved by trapping and removing the coyotes from their community.

Because shooting and killing the coyote that attacked your child would be mean, and would require that they own an eeeeevil gun, maybe even an eeeeevil black rifle.

Of course they don't even want the city to eliminate the threat. Just relocate the problem. That is, make it someone else's problem. Wanting the city kill the animal that attacked your child is also mean. Or something.

That isn't the only incident, but it is notable in that it took place in Los Angeles. Video: Northern California mountain lion grabs border collie by the neck, drags it out of house

Some Sonoma County, California residents are concerned about mountain lions after one lion entered a house, attacked a dog, and dragged the dog by its neck into the backyard.

And while the activists-turned-researchers note that this could have been an attack on a small child, they are still sad that the lion was killed.

[Audubon Canyon Ranch] researchers said they are “saddened” by P1’s death, however, “we believe that the lethal removal of P1 was the right course of action.” P1 was collared and tracked by ACR’s Living with Lions project for eight years.

How about just being glad that no one was injured, and recognize that the right thing was done?
