Sadly, This Is Not the Babylon Bee or The Onion

It certainly reads like a parody. Post-‘Avatar’ Depression Is a Real Thing—But There Are Ways to Cope

I'm not 100 percent sure, but I think this is referencing Millennials, though it could also Be Zoomers.

“For some people, the idea of going outside and connecting to nature is a big barrier to get over,” Higgins says. “They may need some assistance or guidance. But you can find a local group that connects with nature, whether it’s a forest therapy group, a nature center, or a natural history museum, and go on a walk with someone who’s an expert, and can help you ‘put your nature eyes on.'”

Yes, you can put your phone down. You can step away from the computer or the gaming console. You can go outside (and not take a selfie) and look at the things around you.

This article seem to be seriously saying that if these snowflakes go and see a movie, they get PTSD from realizing that they don't live in a fantasy world. Even a fantasy world that is badly written, is being invaded and has to fight a war. Are you freaking kidding me?

Muse recently released a song that sums up the state of the culture: "We Are Fucking Fucked." (It's a pretty good song.) Hat tip goes to Friday Night Tights.

  1. Admittedly I am old (72+) but if these people had been around when I was young, it is impossible to overstate the level of mockery that would come their way. Lo how the maturity level has fallen.

  2. Some of us live out in nature. These same arseholes are telling us that we burn up too many resources and put out too much carbon, with our Diesel pickups and our wood stoves. They reckon we should be required to move to the city, live in an apartment building, in the name of "efficiency." The irony of the whole thing is completely lost on them.
