If you've been living under a rock, you might not be aware of the fact that Balenciaga, a high-end fashion line, ran an advertising campaign that had kids, and stuff next door to bondage front and center, and references to exploitation in the background details. Hollywood - and any number of celebrities are involved in selling this brand - have been weirdly quiet. (Did you see what I did there?)
- Bella Hadid and Nicole Kidman both starred in Balenciaga's Spring '23 campaign but remain silent
- French actress Isabelle Huppert was another star - but she is yet to release a statement on the scandals
- Indeed only Kim Kardashian - who has a lucrative partnership with the brand - has commented, and even she has refused to completely distance herself
- Kylie Jenner, Khloe Kardashian, Alexa Demie, Doja Cat and Salma Hayak - whose husband owns Balenciaga's parent company Kering - have said nothing
They canceled Kanye West for wearing a MAGA hat. I think that was an issue in his divorce, but I'm not sure about that. I mean "Wrong Think" is grounds for divorce in America, I'm sure.
But they can just ignore depravity, because it is coming by way of the "right people," or because they get nice big pay checks. Then they want to lecture people about what is right and how to live life.
Unfortunately The Daily Mail does not attribute the quote that forms the title to this post. A lot of people have expressed that sentiment on Twitter.
So who exactly are they advertising too, when they include this drek (and you can see some of it if you click thru and look at the included photos) in their marketing? It makes me wonder just how big was Epstein's client list.
No doubt the celebs are all waiting to see just how high the dust cloud is going to climb before finally settling. It used to be much easier with the media firmly behind them, but as of late, the media has actually started to act like money is a factor, and companies like CNN have started the big layoffs, to save cash. So the celebs have to see if they have cover to stay woke, or if they have to come out against their friends in bondage, even though they stay connected at the hips, via chains.
