They only dropped one item from their new Terms. PayPal Still Threatens $2500 Fines for Promoting "Discriminatory" "Intolerance" (Even if Not "Misinformation")
So as I said before. If you are opposed to gender transitions for preschoolers, they want $2500. CRT? Same. In fact, if you say anything they don't like, they want $2500. And there is no recourse.
And the cited "Restricted Activities and Holds" policy makes clear that "Actions We May Take if You Engage in Any Restricted Activities" are determined based on PayPal making the decision "in our sole discretion," if Paypal "believe[s] that you've engaged in any of these activities."
So if PayPal "in [its] sole discretion" concludes that you're using PayPal "for activities that … relate to transactions involving … promotion of" "discriminatory" "intolerance"—presumably including distributing publications, or for that matter buying publications (since that's an activity related to transactions involving the promotion of certain views)—it can just take $2500 straight from your account.
I have to believe that this is, at least in part, their reaction to Eric July. He made them look bad. He's conservative on any number of topics. He is most definitely anti-woke. And they did try to take something like a million dollars of his money. At least for a little while.
But what promotes hate/discrimination? The Bible has a lot to say about homosexuality. If you have anything bible-related, does that equate to hate? Ask PayPay, since only their opinion matters. What about the idea that you shouldn't expect handouts from the government? Or that the government shouldn't pay for all of your health care? If you say Israel has the right to exist... well I would bet good money that they will call that hate. When I say - at the end of a large number of posts - "Self-defense is a human-right," will that count as promoting violence? If I quote HeyJackass! on the crime statistics for shootings in Chicago, is that hate? (The breakdown of victims by race does not reflect the racial makeup of the city, you know.) If I say that under all circumstances that 2 + 2 = 4, is that promoting white privilege? There are a lot of "educators" on the west coast who believe that. PayPal doesn't say what they believe. And of course they won't, because that will change over time so that they can penalize wrongthink. Whatever that happens to be today.
As I said before, I've canceled my PayPal account. You probably should too. (Hat tip to Pixy Misa)
