Crime has become something you cannot be oblivious to. DeKalb County commissioner, community seek different approach to stop violence at gas station
DEKALB COUNTY, Ga. — The legal system doesn’t appear to be a deterrent to crime, something DeKalb County commissioner Lorraine Cochran-Johnson says needs to change.
Cochran-Johnson told Channel 2′s Justin Carter this is something that keeps her awake at night — shootings and murders plaguing gas stations and convenience stores in DeKalb.
The quote that forms the title to this post if from John Hammond.
John Hammond works security at gas stations throughout the metro and says he carries two guns and wears a bulletproof vest everyday.
Can you carry concealed? Maybe you should consider the fact that if you're accosted at the gas pump, the cops are not going to save you. Even if you can call 911 between the time you recognize there is a problem, and you are overwhelmed by the problem.
Being oblivious to your surroundings is never a good idea. Being oblivious to your surroundings when you are at a location known to be a crime hot-spot is a truly bad idea.
