Self-defense in Philadelphia. Legally-armed Philadelphia man taking smoke break 'turned the tables' on armed would-be robber | Fox News
A Philadelphia man taking a smoke break outside his home "turned the tables" on an armed would-be robber when he pulled out his own legal gun and fatally shot him, according to police.
"It looked like a robbery victim, at this time, turned the tables on a would-be robber and shot him in the head," Philadelphia Police Chief Inspector Scott Small said of the matter, according to NBC 10.
The guy who got shot died in a local hospital. And yes, you do need to be armed in your own defense outside of your own home. (You are not immune from crime just because you are at home.)
Though the guy was shot in the head, he did fire off a couple of rounds. The homeowner was not injured.
Self-defense is human-right, and it may even be recognized as your legal right in Philadelphia. I'm not sure I would count on that.
