Battle Beast is a Power Metal band that I really like, and since Power Metal includes none of the harsh vocals (none of that Death Metal, Death Growl that offends people so much) I think you might like it too.
For the most part, European Metal, and in particular Power Metal, would have been at home on a 1970s Rock & Roll radio station. Musicians that can perform live, playing real instruments without an abundance of AutoTune or drum machines, etc. And a few American bands like Kamelot or Tremonti fit that bill as well.
Here's a link to the lyrics. I'm not sure you will need them, but it is good to be complete.
This is "Master of Illusion" by Battle Beast from their 2022 album Circus of Doom.
As for the Death Metal, Death Growl, my take is that most people only want to listen to the 200 or so songs that were popular when they were in high school. And they certainly won't listen to any genre of music that wasn't popular at that time. It is the 21st Century version of, "These damn kids and their Rock & Roll music! Get off my lawn!"
While I was searching around for info on the album, I tripped over the fact that "Circus of Doom" was a story arc from Doctor Who. Not having watched the Doctor Who show in decades, I can't offer any insight into the story.
I was waiting for the credits to roll by,,like after movie..
ReplyDeleteSometimes they do actually, it depends on the band, and how involved the video is.
ReplyDeleteWhich is why I usually say that the videos detract from the music. Though I don't hate this one, I usually don't watch the videos.
