Prosecutors HATE Self-defense

And for some reason they really hate when abused women kill their tormentors in self-defense. Wyoming woman charged with murder claims self defense.

He was in violation of a restraining order when he showed up at her apartment. A restraining order based on domestic violence. But that doesn't matter to the DA in Wyoming, Michigan. He thinks he can win a conviction. Convict a woman for killing her abuser; wouldn't be the first time that happened in America. He doesn't care about Justice. He cares about winning.

"My client has told the police he was strangling her and out of desperation she responded and that's the only reason this incident took place. He shouldn't have been there. We wouldn't be here," attorney, Anthony Greene said. "This has been reported to the police over a long period of time about the abuse she was suffering from this individual and nothing was done. Charges will be brought. They slap him on the wrist and they let him go."

Either the DA or the reporter is blaming the victim for "reduced charges," because the DA didn't issue a subpoena so she didn't show up for a court date.

"She has a job and if the prosecutor wants you to show up, they issue a subpoena because you can't just walk away from your job and keep it. She was not subpoenaed. That's again someone dropping the ball."

Greene says his client did have a legally registered firearm.

The judge left her to rot in jail - no bail - until at least March 30th, because he also doesn't care if she loses her job, and then her apartment.

Oh, and families of dead people don't like self-defense.

This is the Criminal Justice System in America. More Criminal than not. A System, that protects its own and rewards wins. It cares little for Justice. (Hat tip to Keep and Bear Arms.)
