Well it is OK if you ignore the bad stuff, which the judges in Chicago have been doing. 21 years for a murder he committed while on a recognizance bond for felony gun charges - CWB Chicago
A Chicago man was sentenced to 21 years in prison on Monday for shooting a man to death in 2018 while on a recognizance bond for felony gun charges. [SNIP]
Williams’ murder case was over a year old when Cook County Chief Judge Timothy Evans falsely told county commissioners in November 2019, “It’s not by magic that we haven’t had any horrible incidents occur using this new [bail] system.”
No "horrible incident." I guess that means Judge Timothy Evans doesn't care about dead people in Chicago.
And while the Left will claim that they need more gun laws, they seem reluctant to actually enforce any of the ones they have.
As a bonus, Cook County prosecutors dropped the gun case entirely along with 15 additional charges in the murder case as part of the plea deal, court records show.
All of this because it is apparently unfair to put violent offenders in jail.
