He apparently thought robbing a gas station would be a good idea. He was mistaken. Miramar Gas Station Clerk Shot Would-Be Robber.
Miramar, Florida is in Broward County. It is a bedroom community that is about 10 or 12 miles north of Miami, and about 5 miles southwest of Fort Lauderdale. To the west, it borders the Everglades.
According to police, John Philippe, 34, walked into a Sunoco gas station at Desoto Drive and Pembroke Road around 7:30 p.m. Tuesday and started fighting with the clerk.
The clerk (or store owner, it is not clear) has a concealed carry permit, and drew a weapon and shot the would be bad-guy.
The injured bad-guy ran a couple of blocks and tried to get help from a home. The residents of the home called the police.
Police and paramedics showed up a short time later and found a bleeding Phillipe. He was taken to the hospital. Police said the gunshot wound was non-life-threatening.
He will face some charges when he gets out of the hospital.
Self-defense is a human-right, and this did not take place in New Jersey.
