A Restraining Order Is Just a Piece of Paper

An interesting piece of paper, and one worth getting in the right circumstances, but it is not a armored shield. Police: Person violating protection order found shot in Trotwood

When officers arrived, they found a victim lying in the front year of an apartment building with a non-life-threatening gunshot wound.

If you need an order of protection, then you need a plan for your personal safety, because the cops are not charged with keeping you safe, not even if you have a court order.

As this story demonstrates, firearms are an effective means of dealing with someone who is determined to perpetrate violence.

The guy who got shot was the subject of a restraining order. It did not restrain him. It could have been a big hint that "You are not welcome here." It wasn't. He could have stayed home and watched TV. He could have had drinks with a friend. He followed a path that lead to his death getting shot. The "How dare you live without me!" attitude never works out in the long run.

Now I don't mind that it's conflicting, but I'm curious,,
Did he did or did he DIDN'T assume room temperature?

  2. This one apparently didn't. My bad.

There were 2 stories from Trotwood, Ohio in 2 days. One guy died. One guy didn't. You can find the other story at this link.

Given that Trotwood is a small town/city/suburb of Dayton, Ohio, that there are 2 stories that close together is amazing.
