Soft on Crime: Part 2

After man is stabbed 5 times outside Union Station, the alleged attacker is only charged with one misdemeanor - CWB Chicago

Because actually charging a guy, who has a HISTORY of attacking people, with a felony when he commits felony-grade-assualt would be mean.

A man who has a history of attacking passers-by and transit workers allegedly stabbed a 66-year-old man five times near Union Station late last month. But he is only charged with one count of misdemeanor battery, even though a CPD report says the victim wanted to pursue felony charges.

But actually stabbing someone 5 times is only worth a misdemeanor charge to the non-prosecutors under Cook County State's Attorney Kix Foxx, also known as Crimesha.

Click thru for the sad details, including two other cases, of what to me is clearly felony assault, that resulted in only midemeanor charges.
