Crazy People Are Dangerous

With apologies to They Other McCain for stealing the title to this post. Prosecutors: Man attacked, robbed woman inside Lakeview apartment building days after getting an I-Bond for similar attack nearby | CWB Chicago

Keeping violent offenders away from the public - in order to keep the public safe - would apparently be unfair.

A man who allegedly followed a woman into her Lakeview apartment building and battered her last week — and was released on a recognizance bond four hours later — was charged Tuesday with attacking and robbing another woman he followed into a different Lakeview apartment building four days later.

So he was in "The System" for 4 hours after he attacked a woman in her own home. 4 days later he did the same thing to another woman.

At least this time the judge has decided to make it harder for him to get out of jail.

Judge David Navarro set his bail at $250,000. Coleman will need to post 10% of that amount to get out of jail before trial.

Still doesn't strike me as enough.

His public defender said, in open court, that he takes medicine for mental illness.

And he has a longer record than 2 incidents that have come to the attention of police and CWB Chicago. Click thru for the details.

  1. Example # 1,361,982 that Cook County is not serious about crime.
