They obviously didn't want to be stopped. They could have avoided that by not breaking the traffic laws. 2 officers shot, 1 killed on Southwest Side; 1 suspect remains at-large | WGN-TV
Police said officers engaged a traffic stop in the 6300 block of South Bell Street just before 9:10 p.m. with a vehicle with three occupants inside, two men and one woman.
Both officers were shot. One of them is in critical condition. One has died; she was a 29-year-old woman.
Very little in the way of details have been released. I am assuming that is so that the family can be notified.
The casual disregard for life is still amazing to me. It seems it would be impossible for some people to just obey the law, even traffic law. It is the entire breakdown of order, or it seems to be heading in that direction anyway.
As of of August 6th, there have been 2713 people shot in Chicago in 2021. 464 of those people died, and there were an additional 26 homicides (not with a firearm) for total of 490 homicides. And for comparison, of those 490 people killed, 4 were killed by police. I include that last statistic, because someone will bring up the people killed by police.

ReplyDeleteTraffic laws are so onerous and arbitrary that no one can drive more than a couple miles without breaking one of them. Or that is what the pampered snowflakes working as cops say when asked.
Can you describe for us your vast experience in law enforcement after graduating summa cum luade in Albanian 14th Century poetry.
