President Trump offered assistance to Chicago, but Lightfoot said "F— You."
Now the other guy is offering help, and suddenly taking help from DC is a good thing.
As mayor of Chicago, Lightfoot had one overriding responsibility – to keep citizens safe. By playing politics with "Orange Man money – BAD; senile democrat money – GOOD" then the mayor is guilty of the most heinous crime imaginable: Lightfoot is playing politics with lives, 95 percent of them minority lives. That is unconscionable.
Safety has evaporated in Chicago. 3.8 people killed every day, and someone is shot every 2 hours on average. Some days are better and some are worse. Things are not moving in the right direction, however.
Though I'm sure the Crime Is Down message will still be hammered, because that is all they have to say. Crime may or may not be worse than last year; crime is worse then every other year dating back to at least 2014 or so.
Chicago is a progressive, socialist city. They aren't shooting people. They are redistributing the bullets.
