It is becoming a thing. Fairfield Homeowner Fatally Shoots Alleged Armed Intruder
The victim and his wife were reportedly having breakfast when the suspect began kicking their door and then completely broke it down.
So fearing for his life, he shot the guy. The reporter and/or the news outlet has to make sure you know it was a legal firearm. I guess because they expect all firearms to be illegal.
The guy who got shot ran, but he died nearby. He had a firearm and a criminal history.
The homeowner was not arrested.
And it is worth noting that the media did get the "Who is the victim in this case?" question answered correctly. They often call the guy who got shot the victim, even if he was the aggressor, as in this case.
Self-defense is a human-right. Good Guys 1, Bad Guys 0.
