The Limits to Knowledge

Gödel’s Incompleteness Theorem disturbed mathematicians for a long time, and still strikes some people as odd when they first encounter it. But at its heart it says there are things you cannot know. There are true statements that you cannot prove to be true. This goes along with Turnings' proof that there is no algorithm way to decide if something is follows from the axioms. That is called undecidable.

There is also at least one question in physics which has been shown to undecidable, and another in quantum physics which may be undecidable.
