First the statistics.
It's not just in New Orleans. Recent studies show the amount of women and minorities getting concealed carrier licenses across the U.S. has gone up by at least 30%.
How can they claim that gunowners are uniformly white and male?
"For a lot of the crimes that have been committed like robberies, women are the number one target. Because most people assume they are easier to be targeted," said Stewart, the owner of Angel Arms NOLA.
Women being targeted as helpless victims, a stigma Martha said she is hoping will change.
"Just because we are women does not mean we do not value our life. They should go to the shooting range and educate themselves on self defense. Because they should not want to be the next victim," said Robins.
Not that it will stop the gun-haters.
