Self-reliance? Individual action? Individual responsibility? We can't have that! Self-Defense Claim A Potential In Concord Fatal Shooting: AG.
The lawyers don't like it much either.
A homeless guy was trespassed at a building on Friday. On Saturday he was back, and banging on an apartment door. He ended up with a gunshot wound to the chest, courtesy of the resident of that apartment.
According to police, dispatch, witnesses, and scanner chatter, a caller from the complex called police accusing Wigglesworth of banging on the door of an apartment and then, hearing gunshots. Police and firefighters responded to the building and found Wigglesworth suffering from a gunshot wound on the fourth floor of the complex, according to Kate Giaquinto, the director of communications for the attorney general's office.
The resident of that apartment is cooperating with police, but that is not enough for the DA's office or the media to jump to the conclusion that this was justifiable self-defense. How would you respond to a homeless guy trying to break into your home?
Self-defense is a human-right, but this took place in New Hampshire, which is closer (on several levels) to New Jersey than it is to Texas.
This is why sane people don't live in Orwell land.
