The gun-hating part of the Left loves to go on at length about how if you own a gun, then you are more likely to shoot someone you know than a complete stranger. Police ID man killed in shooting in Northern Michigan home
Consider how many people you "know." Ex-girlfriends and/or ex-boyfriends. Disgruntled coworkers. Ex-employees. The creepy guy from your favorite coffee shop. The list is quite long. In this instance, the guy who would soon be shot, was listed as an acquaintance of the homeowner.
The Emmett County Sheriff’s Office says it appears Van Allen had entered the home of an acquaintance when a struggle ensued.
At some point during the altercation Van Allen was shot and killed.
Emmet County, Michigan is at the northern most tip of the Lower Peninsula. It includes part of Mackinaw City, Michigan.
The police have not arrested anyone, but it will be the DA who makes the determination on any charges.
