While you all know about the fire that is destroying Los Angeles, Libs of TikTok still manages to offer up some things that are, if not amusing, thought provoking. (It would be funny, if it wasn't so sad.) DEI at the LA Fire Department
First Libes of TikTok let LA Mayor Karen Bass have it with both barrels.
Bass was responsible for cutting over $17 million from the Los Angeles Fire Department budget. But don’t worry, Bass made sure that hundreds of thousands of tax dollars went towards “important” things like transgender cafes and Social Justice Art.
That isn't a joke. That is how tax dollars in California are spent.
LAFD Deputy Chief Kristine Larson, another LGBTQ leader in the department, went on camera and claimed that if she needed to carry a man out of a fire, “he got himself in the wrong place.”
This video, while you've probably seen it, I include it here. See this link. That should be enough to fire her. She is a first responder and she doesn't think she should be able to save people to have that job. What does she think the job of a first responder is?
Liberals in California don't believe that government is about providing basic services. They believe it is about indoctrinating the next generations of Americans to accept Communism, in all its forms.
I was going to produce a separate post, but this seems like a good a place as any. While California doesn't have any money to fight fires, or build water projects, they do have money to "spend" on their high speed train-to-nowhere. Despite some progress, state’s high-speed rail is $100 billion short and many years from reality
Why are they doing this? Because Trump wanted to kill it, and that made it good enough for Governor Hair Gel and Company.
There are currently 119 miles under construction stretching from Madera to Shafter. An environmental review cleared the expansion to Merced and Bakersfield, but the authority has not yet fully secured funding to do so.
So they can't even fund the section from Merced to Bakersfield. Which is a joke, anyway, because those are 2 places where no one needs to travel between.
Officials estimate it could cost about $35 billion to finish the first line from Bakersfield to Merced and roughly $100 billion more to complete the route from Los Angeles to San Francisco — about $100 billion more than what was originally proposed years ago. And the source of most funds is unclear.
One hundred BILLION dollars, for virtue signalling. So Gavin Newsom can say:
“No state in America is closer to launching high-speed rail than California – and today, we just took a massive step forward.
That is a criminal waste of public funds.
So what are you going to spend your limited funds on?
In 2014 the voters of California passed a $14 Billion bond for areservoir project to save all the fresh water that gets sent out to the ocean. Ten years later nothing has been built, what did greasy gavin do with all the money appropriated for the project? Did it get diverted to the "High Speed Rail" boondoggle?
ReplyDeleteIt was 2016, I think, when the entire west coast was deluged by heavy rains for an entire month. Snow pack was 120 - 300+ % of average.
DeleteCA has many canals in the San Joaquin and Sacramento river systems. The canal network extends to San Francisco Bay thence the Pacific..
During those rains I found a webpage listing the capacities of every canal. I noted that every canal showed current discharge 9,000 to 35,000% greater than capacity. Only short, minor canals were below 11,000%.
Govnor Moonbeam would not cancel the officially declared drought. This meant it was unlawful to store water, among other things. During that time, Moonbeam filled to 100% a lake he had dug on his rural property.
Actually, the high speed rail was initially nine, then eleven billion. It was laughable.
ReplyDeleteEven after their own analysis showed they had overestimated ridership by 50% and other BS, they charged full speed ahead. Probably because they knew a commie-controlled Congress would find it.
Remember one of the first things jopedo did was significantly pay down the debt in blue cities. Before that, blue cities and states ran up their debt like never before. They banked on fedgov largesse and they got it big time.
