"Scarborough Fair" is a traditional English ballad. The song we all know was listed in a work on music in 1891, but it has elements in common with songs that date back to the 1600s.
This is an interpretation people don't usually hear. Wes Montgomery was one of the many musicians gone too soon. He died in 1968 at the age of 45 from a heart attack.
