And so they issue a call for more gun laws, of course. Chicago police Officer Enrique Martinez killing sees felon charged with using a switch-equipped machine gun - Chicago Sun-Times
Putting people who commit actual crimes in jail? That's not fair! Not to mention that the non-prosecutors in Chicago tend to not charge the gun crimes‡ in a lot of cases.
See the previous post on Officer Enrique Martinez, who was killed in the line of duty.
A convicted felon was charged Wednesday in the deadly shooting of Chicago police Officer Enrique Martinez that erupted during a traffic stop earlier this week in Chatham on the South Side and also claimed the life of the vehicle’s driver.
Crimesha, AKA Illinois State's Attorney for Cook County, and Chicago, Kim Foxx, showed up at the press conference announcing the charges to push for national gun control.
I will let Second City Cop comment on that.
No, you useless fuckwit. We need actual punishment for crimes and truth in sentencing where twenty years means twenty-fucking years. Thank god you'll be gone by the time this goes to trial.
Twenty years in Illinois is usually ten years, because they all get "time off for good behavior." I'm not sure if they actually have to display good behavior or not. But most don't serve close to the time sentenced.
Aside from first-degree murder, this is what this guy was charged with:
McMillian also faces felony counts of attempted murder of a police officer, burglary, possession of a machine gun and possession of a gun as a felon, Snelling said.
So its illegal for a felon to have a gun. Machine guns are illegal in a whole other sense. Not to mention murder, and burglary.
I wonder what laws Kim Foxx thinks would have stopped this guy. Probably outlawing all guns for law-abiding citizens.
‡ There was a recent case, where two people were killed by a guy who had his gun charges dropped in 2017. Why? Because putting people in jail is not fair, according to The Criminal Justice System (so called) in Chicago. How fair do you think it was his two victims and their families?
