'Round Midnight

I was following a musical rabbit hole that started with Daft Punk, and worked over to music by Nile Rodgers. He played guitar on the Daft Punk/Pharrell Williams songs "Get Lucky" and "Lose Yourself to Dance." If you're old enough you know him from his Disco/Funk band Chic and the song that was everywhere when it came out, "Le Freak." (That wasn't the only song from Chic of course, just the one I remember the most.)

Anyway, Nile Rodger's work with David Bowie on "Let's Dance" led to a Rick Beato video, and a jazz guitarist I haven't listened to in a very long time, Wes Montgomery.

This song is "'Round Midnight" by Wes Montgomery from the album The Wes Montgomery Trio: A Dynamic New Sound: Guitar/Organ/Drums. The trio consisted of Wes Montgomery on guitar, Melvin Rhyne on organ, and Paul Parker playing drums. The song was originally written by Thelonious Monk and Cootie Williams.
