Is It Fair to Continually Release Criminals on Bail?

The parents of the person killed in this incident don't think it was fair. Milwaukee crash victim's parents not done fighting after guilty verdict

Continually let out on bail, even though he continually jumped bail. They let him go time and again until he killed someone. At the time of the crash, he had been released on 3 separate felony charges. For all the details watch the embedded video, below, from Midwest Safety. But back to the news article.

And that's why Danari's parents said justice for their son is about more than one man's accountability. It's about fixing a system that cost them something they can never get back.

"The laws have to change. That’s the only way we’re going to be able to take back our city," [Nicole Byrd, Danari's mother] said.

The video is tough to watch, because of the parents of Danari Peer, and their emotion, but it is worth noting that they are working on bail reform, or perhaps I should say, reversing bail reform, so that criminals, who have a clear pattern of breaking the law, are not let out of jail for no money, or very little money.

According to Danari Peer's father, Jackie Peer, in the video, the guy driving the car was going 109 MPH in a 35 MPH zone.

The Left says it isn't fair to keep people in jail, before they have been convicted of a crime. I see their point, but there are 2 things. The first is that trials are not supposed to take years and years to get going. The second is that when evidence mounts in situations like this, something needs to be done for public safety. But mostly that whole speedy trial thing should be respected.
