Is this what's known as Regulatory Capture?
That $710 million was during the pandemic: late 2021 to 2023.
Almost all that cash — $690 million — went to the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Disease (NIAID), the subagency led by Dr. Anthony Fauci, and 260 of its scientists.
Information about this vast private royalty complex is tightly held by NIH.
Mr. "I am Science!" might actually be "I am owned by Big Pharma." You can't collect royalties on drugs that have been around for decades. Puts an emphasis on mandating the newest stuff.
