Man Shoots Ambulance Because It Wouldn't Get Out of His Way

Because he is more important than whatever was going on in the back of the ambulance. Civilization was nice while it lasted. Man fired shots at ambulance with patient inside in Logan Square: police

Logan Square is one of the 77 neighborhoods in Chicago.

A man was arrested after he fired at an ambulance with a 79-year-old patient inside because it would not get out of his way in Logan Square Wednesday night, police said.

The man, 39, got out of a white Acura in the 2600 block of North Hamlin Avenue about 9:30 p.m. and began shouting at the Chicago Fire Department ambulance to move, according to police.

The EMTs didn't know that their ambulance had been shot until later, though they did hear pounding on the vehicle, and then something that sounded like fireworks.

And imagine my surprise to discover that the guy in question is not a legal firearms owner, though that bit of information is in the last paragraph of the article.

The man, who does not have a valid firearm owner identification card or concealed carry license, was on parole for an aggravated battery with a firearm conviction, according to Illinois Department of Corrections records.

How self-centered do you need to be, to think that wherever you are going on a Wednesday night is more important than the potential life-saving activities going on in the back of an ambulance? When did society sink so low?

The guy with the gun was arrested a short time later, but this being Chicago and Cook County, I am sure that he will be released. Cash Bail is Unfair! Or something.

No surprise here. Now, I just assume this until proven otherwise.
