Tuesday Links - 7 February

Professor David Yamane at Gun Curious is up first with What If We Begin Discussions of Guns With Our Commonalities Rather Than Differences? Prof. Yamane was panelist for a discussion that was basically titled "How to Stop the Next Mass Shooting."

What made this event special, beyond the diversity of opinions represented, was that it was structured to begin not with our differences but with what we held in common. None of the panelists or audience members, regardless of their differing views on guns and gun control, were pro-mass shooting or pro-criminal violence.

Robert Spencer at PJ Media is up next with this insanity: Defund the Smithsonian: Catholic Students Kicked Out of Air & Space Museum for Pro-Life Hats

Murphy said that while the group was standing outside the institution, “they were approached by a man claiming he had reports the group refused to take off their hats and they were in trouble.” Murphy says that he told this fellow: “This is a violation of our First Amendment right. This is a government funded building. How are we paying for this with our taxes and I’m not allowed to wear this hat?” But the man responded that the museum “was a neutral zone and their rights didn’t apply.” Murphy concludes: “We had almost no words.”

Granite Grok - Once Again, Congressional Progressives Show THEY Believe Govt Owns You AND Your Company

You can call it “The hubris of high office”, the “Insolence of a long-term office holder”, or “Progressives on Parade”. Or all three at once but these two short paragraphs show that these folks have no interest in governing, they believe that you are ruled by them. And they have no problem in letting you know that, one way or another.

Mark Judge at The Washington Examiner - The Hollywood Stasi and their botched anti-Kavanaugh film.

I wrote a book about my experience in The Devil's Triangle: Mark Judge vs the New American Stasi . My thesis is that the media, opposition researchers, and Hollywood form a new American Stasi, similar to the old East German secret police. They use extortion, intimidation, and threats to destroy the lives of others, ignoring any facts or evidence that point away from their narrative.

Rebel News Australia - BREAKING: Rebel News security awarded MASSIVE Police payout over unlawful arrest

Daniel Jones has been awarded a massive payout after Victoria Police finally conceded to unlawfully arresting Avi Yemini's security guard during an anti-lockdown rally in Melbourne.

Police targeted Jones for providing security to Yemini's team, as Rebel News reported from the anti-lockdown protest outside Flinders Street Station on July 25, 2021.

Granite Grok - Data Point – When Citizens Believe that GOVERNMENT Is Their Largest Problem…

The thought that immediately came to mind was “When the people fear the government, there is tyranny. When the government fears the people, there is liberty.” Yet, here we are where The People are starting to believe that Government is the largest problem in their lives.

The Other McCain - ‘We May Never Learn the Full Story’

It is not necessary for me to debunk The Nation article, because John Sexton at Hot Air has given it rather a thorough fisking. John’s pet peeve is that so many in the media are trying to cast doubt on how “Tortuguita” got shot, despite the available evidence. My pet peeve, on the other hand, is the way this “forest” is depicted as some sort of pristine environmental treasure when, in fact, it’s just a bunch of scrub trees that grew up on the site (formerly the Atlanta Prison Farm) after it was abandoned a few decades ago.

Red State - Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin's Statement on Downing of Chinese Balloon Is Ironic Comedy at Its Best

However, as we reported earlier today, Biden told reporters he ordered the Pentagon to down the balloon on Wednesday but was–in effect–overruled by U.S. military commanders.

Pirate's Cove - Climate Crisis (scam) Groups Having Lots Of Problems With Unions

Well, that’s strange. You’d think all the Modern Socialists running those unhinged groups would be all in favor of unionization and treat the employees well, right?

Again from The Other McCain - Next Media Narrative: How Joe Biden Defeated the Evil Chinese Spy Balloon. What a load of BS.

The first 20 minutes on Meet the Press will be devoted to praising Joe Biden’s courage — his steely-eyed resolve and decisiveness — in ordering the Air Force to shoot down this threat to America.

Lastly from Wombat-socho - FMJRA 2.0: The Machineries Of Joy. With a bit of history that never was.

Essentially a “stretch” version of the Iowa class with an extra triple 16″ turret and additional 5″/38 dual purpose guns, the Montana and her sisters were planned to mob the bigger, heavier Yamato-class superdreadnoughts in hot four or six-on-one action…but then it turned out it was easier and cheaper to send the IJN to Davy Jones’ Locker with dive bombers and torpedoes from submarines...
