As Mr. Noir says "everybody" in Texas has a gun. Houston robbery suspect shot to death by customer in taqueria on Gessner, police say
Police say the restaurant was open and customers were eating when the suspect came in wearing a black ski mask and gloves and demanded money from the patrons.
According to police, the suspect pointed a pistol at the customers. Police at the scene said that the gun may have been plastic, either airsoft or a BB gun, although the investigation was still being conducted.
The shooter left the scene, which I consider to be bad form. I also understand it. There are some details at the article linked above, but I actually recommend the video below, and not just because Colion Noir rocks when it comes to covering this kind of thing.

This the bit about "When you look up the definition of Texas in the dictionary, it tells you that everyone ... has a gun." And he isn't the first to make that point. It was also in the movie, Miss Congeniality.
I'm also interested in the shooter and why he did not wait and hang for cops. Might have a good reason such as a prohibited possessor as I was one for more than 20 years and even in self-defense a PP type of person heads off to prison. I filed 4 years ago to get my 2A back and did so and was not really all that hard to do.
ReplyDeleteGiven the location, the shooter and all the patrons, and most of the staff were probably illegal aliens. The owner and [some] workers, and the dead guy, were the only ones there when the cops arrived.
ReplyDeleteWatching the video, and learning that the guy got everyone's property back (from the dead guy's pockets) and returned it, then left, suggests to me that the guy has shot and killed people before. He certainly looks like a hard case, as does his dinner companion.
It'll be interesting to see how it all plays out and what the truth is.
