From The Other McCain - Orange Man (Still) Bad: Anti-Trump Witch Hunt Must Continue, Says Garland
“Show me the man and I’ll show you the crime,” said Stalin’s notorious secret police chief Lavrentiy Beria, summarizing the method by which totalitarianism destroys its chosen enemies. Specious accusations of “Trotskyism” were enough to justify arrest and prosecution and, as Beria said, the NKVD could always discover (or rather, invent) “crimes” used to justify the summary execution of whatever “enemy of the people” (vrag naroda) had aroused Stalin’s paranoid fears. Likewise, with Merrick Garland in charge of the Department of Justice, the more or less permanent “investigation” of former President Donald Trump.
The FBI is more like the Stazi every day. And I compare them to the Stazi, or the Ministerium für Staatsicherheit (Ministry for State Security) from the old East Germany, because they were the "law enforcement" branch of the Communist Party, and the FBI has morphed into the law enforcement (or secret police) branch of the Democratic Party.
