He Was Going to Speak Harshly to Them

And he nearly lost his life because of it. Castro Valley catalytic converter theft leads to homeowner being shot

Four guys were trying to steal the catalytic converter from his car. They shot him.

Officers arriving at the scene discovered a victim with two gunshot wounds to his leg. The victim was reportedly shot when he confronted the four suspects who were attempting to steal the catalytic converter from his car.

A tourniquet was applied to the victim’s leg by deputies and he was transported to the hospital. He is expected to survive his injuries.

You don't apply a tourniquet to a minor injury.

The police did locate the vehicle later after a pursuit and a crash. It was full of cut catalytic converters.

I'm sure that having the catalytic converter stolen from you car would be annoying. I am sure that it is not worth losing your life over.

  1. Never confront any criminal unarmed, and have your weapon out and at the ready before venturing out. There have been several instances of homeowners being shot at, and one guy getting slashed in the face with a Sawzall confronting thieves here in Kommiecticut.

The criminal coddlers will lament that property is not worth a life. Someone needs to make sure the criminals know that, because it will be their life that is forfeit when they attack a property owner.

    1. Castro Valley is in the deepest blue part of Deep Blue California, The San Francisco Bay Area. To even imply that residents of Castro Valley might own firearms is an affront to their deeply held deep-blue convictions that you should rely on the police for your personal safety.

Why this idiot didn't think he should rely on the police for the safety of his catalytic converter, we may never know.
