Cops Have a Dangerous Job. Cops at Uvalde Didn't Like That

You would think that cops who were in Uvalde that day didn't know being a police officer was a dangerous job, before they arrived at the school. BODY CAM FOOTAGE: Uvalde cops complained they were afraid to get shot during massacre | The Post Millennial

Newly leaked footage of Uvalde police officers shows a group of armed men covered in body armor expressing fear of getting "clapped out," shot, or putting themselves in any danger whatsoever during the massacre at Robb Elementary School on May 24 during a massacre that saw 19 children and two teachers killed.

Local NBC News obtained the footage which featured the conversation between two unidentified Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS) officers unable to figure out what to do or where to go at the school. One said, "Want to jump the f*cking gate or what?" to which the other replied "What is the safest way to do this? I’m not trying to get clapped out."

And if they didn't want to accept the risk, what is their rationale for stopping the people, the parents, who WERE willing to accept the risk, with much less equipment? That didn't want to look bad? Well, they failed miserably at that, because one thing is certain; they all look like cowardly idiots.

According to the New York Post, [Texas Department of Public Safety Director Steve] McGraw also said he would resign if his team was found to have any culpability in the botched response, which they were. But McGraw has said, "I can tell you this right now: DPS as an institution, right now, did not fail the community — plain and simple."

McGraw has refused to resign despite calls for him to do so from the parents of the dead children.

So he is sure his team did nothing wrong, even though it is clear they did a lot wrong, and he's sure of that BEFORE the inquiry is finished, so I guess that means it is a foregone conclusion. How do you spell "Whitewash?" And even though he promised to resign, he won't resign because he knows what that foregone conclusion is. Are cops investigating cops? Sure sounds like it.

Not only should he resign. Every cop who was in Uvalde the day of the massacre, and stood around with his thumb up his ass, should resign. They won't. The overriding cry of the bureaucrat is, "It's not my fault." (Hat tip to Gates of Vienna.)

  1. Statistically Law Enforcement isn't even in the top ten when it comes to 'dangerous jobs'.
