You can never really be sure in 2022. No Charges for Clare Homeowner Who Shot, Killed Home Invader
The guy who got shot broke into a home. The homeowner had him at gunpoint. When the cops arrived, he charged the homeowner. It was the last thing he did.
The prosecuting attorney concluded that the homeowner was legally justified in shooting Lighthall, stating that the homeowner acted “…under the honest and reasonable belief that he or the others in the home were in immediate danger of death or serious injury” and action was needed to protect himself and everyone in the home.
Considering that the shooting took place on May 5th, this DA is moving at light speed to make a decision this fast. Some DAs wait months, while looking for any reason to prosecute. (You are supposed to rely on The State for everything. Including what they cannot provide.)
