There has been a lot of video, but not a lot of information on the incident in Miami. So here is some real information, some video that isn't just cellphone video of flames, and some reasoned analysis by a professional pilot.
And really. Leave your luggage behind. There isn't anything in your carry-on bad worth losing your life over. And there really isn't anything in YOUR carry-on bag that I am willing to lose MY life over. (See the section of the video at 8 minutes and 12 seconds in.) And then you should try to stay out of the way of any emergency equipment.
The section of the video at 3 minutes and 47 seconds that shows the aircraft on the ground, before it came to rest. Juan seems to think that the left-main landing gear had collapsed at that point. You should at least look at that, as it isn't cellphone video of chaos, and he has some intelligent things to say. But then he always has good things to say.
