Ohio's Constitutional Carry law, or permitless carry, went into effect on Monday. General media coverage is about what you would expect. From USCCA Blog we get something different. Constitutional Carry in 25 U.S. States. It is from March, but will have to do.
The number of states with Constitutional Carry has risen to 25.
So far this year four states — Alabama, Ohio, Indiana and Georgia — have passed constitutional carry or permitless carry laws, making them the 22nd, 23rd, 24th and 25th states to do so. Fifty percent of U.S. states have passed laws permitting constitutional carry or permitless carry in the last two decades.
You can click thru for the details. Basically in Ohio permits are optional - they are useful for states that recognize Ohio's permit, but don't have Constitutional Carry.
Despite the fact that 25 states now have Constitutional Carry, the media is still in a frenzy, going on about all the usual "the-sky-is-falling" nonsense. Reminds me of when the original Concealed Carry legislation was passed. "Blood will run in the streets." Of course they never want to talk about Chicago, or Baltimore, where they have that problem only with criminals carrying weapons.

Starting TODAY, June 13, 2022, Ohio Gun Owners’ Juneteenth, it is legal in Ohio to carry a concealed handgun without having to beg for government permission. Senate Bill 215 was signed into law recognizing the Constitutional right of Ohioans 21 and over who are legally allowed to have a handgun to be able to carry that handgun with no license, fee, or government red tape required.
