"Mad Science" means never stopping to ask "what's the worst thing that could happen?"

And Big Tech is basically Mad Science. "Hey this sounds neat. Let's do it! What could go wrong?" Apple AirTag: Police warn of unwanted tracking after device found on car in Montgomery County.

Because no one could see that making it easy to track things would also make it easy for bad guys to track people. Repeat after me: What could possibly go wrong?

"Apple Air Tags are relatively inexpensive and are becoming a very popular item created for the consumer to keep track of their belongings, such as keys and wallets," Lower Providence police said in a press release." Unfortunately, criminals are starting to use this technology for several reasons such as stalking purposes or to track vehicles they want to steal."

There is supposed to be a design feature in Air Tags to discourage this kind of thing, but it is still possible.

An Apple iPhone will tell you if an unfamiliar token is following you. If you have an Android phone, there are sever apps you can use to check. I do use one of the apps, but I'm not sure it is the best, so no recomendations.
