The Third Worst July Ever

Chicago Flag

In Chicago, anyway. HeyJackass! brings us the statistics in the July Wrap-up.

Not only did this July best last July’s nonsense, this homicide tally places it in the top 3 of all time. Only November 1974 (117) and August 1992 (122) racked up more.

There were 110 homicides in the Windy City, and an additional 517 people were shot and wounded.

This is the first time we recorded over 600 shot in a single month.

Click thru for detailed stats, such as the number of Selfies, Shot by Police, and #ShotInTheAss, a breakdown of victims by race, etc.

  1. On a whim I decided to compare ‘rona deaths for July. By my count Chicago had 38 for the month, narrowly missing a 3:1 ratio of gunshot to c19 deaths.

Maybe the mayor should mandate body armor instead of masks.
